3. Where Your Money Goes
The ELCA’s approach to ministry starts with listening. After our congregations and global companions identify local needs, we partner with them as they develop local solutions. As a long-standing, unwavering presence in nearly 90 countries, including the United States, we steer clear of “one-size-fits-all” answers and have enormous respect for local context, local expertise and local ingenuity.
We are good stewards of your resources, holding administrative costs at less than 10 percent – among the lowest of other organizations doing similar work.
The items in this catalog are examples of work being done in projects and programs supported by funds from the ELCA. Your gifts will be combined with the gifts of others to fund areas of work related to your selection (e.g. international emergencies, health care, sustainable development, etc.) so that your donation has the greatest impact. In order to honor your generosity and keep administrative costs low, the ELCA does not track individual financial gifts to specific families or locations in the United States or abroad.
